Fall for TR in October

Create your Own Ceramic Ghost – White Rabbit Fine Art Gallery, 5 S. Main Street
Join me for a fun-filled afternoon of creativity! Get ready to unleash your artistic side and craft a unique ceramic ghost to add a festive touch to your home décor. No prior experience is required, as I will guide you through the process step by step. We will be constructing, embellishing, and painting our ghosts during this class, and you will be able to pick up your finished piece in three weeks! TWEEN HANGOUT: Friendship Bracelets – Palmetto Proper. Play, Cafe, and Gifts, 164 N. Main Street
Ages 7-12 – Drop-Off. $15 (includes instruction, snacks & supplies)
An afternoon especially for the tweens! Join other 7-12 year olds for a time of fellowship and snacks as we learn to create embroidery thread friendship bracelets! All supplies and instruction for various styles will be provided so that each person leaves with the knowledge to keep creating! This will be a fun afternoon to meet other local tweens in a safe & inviting atmosphere!  *Playground closed during the event. Oktoberfest at our TR location.*Live Music from Greenville Brass Haus 4:30 pm -7 pm. *Oktoberfest and fun fall seasonal beers flowing on tap *Special German wines available (By the glass) *Chance to wine some German beer Steins!

Scarecrows on Main
Come to the Downtown Travelers Rest and see something spectacular! Scarecrows will be popping up in the Gazebo, and in front of shops and restaurants to celebrate the fall season. Look for ballot boxes in shops and cast a vote for your favorite scarecrow or visit our Facebook page @DiscoverTravelersrestSC. You can find paper ballots in town. look for the Pumpkin head in shop windows to find participating merchants. Voting begins Sunday, October 8th! Pick your favorite and L I K E the photo on Facebook to cast your vote. Cast your vote HERE.

Oct 8 – 10 am – noon
Yoga & a Mimosa – The Community Tap TR, 321 S Main Street
1-hour yoga session + a Mimosa with Kimmie. Witchy yoga! After yoga, enjoy a mimosa from The Community Tap! $20 per person. Please arrive 15 minutes prior to the class and bring your own mat! For people not drinking alcohol-we can sub a NA drink of your choice. This event is held outside under our patio. Space is limited so register today. Get ready to dance and sing!

Choose your poison! Pick from our “Tricks” or “Treats” Pumpkins where you’ll either be “Tricked” with only 3 pieces of candy and a 10% off coupon or “Treated” to things like a Free used book or 30% off a new book!

Browse & Stroll Art on the Trail – Along Main Street and the Trail
Featuring over 60 carefully selected artists and merchants in town joining the event with special sales to make for a great day of shopping and enjoying the outdoors. The local food scene covers all pallets with over 20 restaurants offering everything from farm-to-table, pizza, and tacos, to sandwiches, burgers, and more. Show hours: 11 am – 4 pm

Huge Sidewalk Sale – As the Page Turns, 32 S. Main Street
We’ve been doing some “Fall Cleaning” and we will be having HUGE Sidewalk Sale during Browse on Stroll! Come check it out! It will be on our front “porch” as usual and also down the side of the building as well! $1 per book and $2 hard cover book, or fill a bag for $5! From 1-3 join local author Gordon Butler aka Joel Coke as he signs his local lore with such titles as The Haunting of Poinsett Bridge, The Ghost of Russell Farmstead, Resurrection at Rabun Bald and more!

Oct. 25th is Fine Art Appreciation Day, let’s celebrate with a wonderful & colorful fall leaf drawing! Fall is a beautiful & colorful time of year! We will learn how to contour and draw a variety of fall leaves. Oil pastels will be provided to practice color blending in analogous & complimentary color groups. We’ll blend in oil pastels & complete a beautiful leaf study on 9×12 drawing paper. All materials will be provided, as well as wine, drinks & snacks! The cost is $20 per person. Downtown Trick-or-Treating – Along Main Street
Each year, Downtown Travelers Rest is invaded by tiny ghosts & goblins, dinosaurs & dragons, fairies, princes, and superheroes of every size trick-or-treating in town thanks to the incredible generosity of participating businesses who purchase treats on their own. There will be games in the gazebo, free face painting, and LOTS of CANDY! Merchants will be giving out coupons and special sale announcements too! Fun for the whole family!

Room on the Broom Day! Story Hour and Activity – As the Page Turns, 32 S. Main Street
Join As the Page Turns for Room on the Broom Day! Amy’s favorite Halloween book come to life! We will be having Children’s Story time from 2-3, reading Room on the Broom and then we will be making our very own wands! We will have themed snacks and decor and we encourage EVERYONE to join us in WEARING YOUR COSTUME! The Downtown Trick or Treating begins at 3pm, so you can start your Trick or Treating right here at As the Page Turns!
