Happy Fall Ya’ll! So exciting to see the leaves start to fall and temperatures drop. And while we are excited over Fall, we are also doing lots of celebrating this month in the City of TR! We are celebrating our new murals, updated park and our success as a Tree City with a better than average tree canopy in our city.
Coming soon, get ready to be entertained by our annual Scarecrow competition on Main Street. Info on how to sign up to compete below. Hope you have a lovely September!

TRAVELERS REST IN BUSINESS VIEW MAGAZINE

The article will appear in the December issue of Business View magazine and will be distributed to over 100,000 subscribers.
CITY’S TREE CANOPY A TOP PROIRITY
Travelers Rest is leading the way in Greenville County based on the latest tree canopy survey. With 45% tree coverage across the city, Travelers Rest is in a great position to improve its tree canopy over the coming years.
Tree replacement and tree mitigation efforts will ensure that we not only maintain the existing canopy but also increase the coverage. The City continues its partnership with Trees Upstate and Schneider Tree Care for planting new trees and maintaining our existing trees.
Many trees around the city are mapped with a brass tag and number. The next time you are in Trailblazer Park take note of the tags and know that the city is focused on improving our tree canopy for future generations.

The City hosted a gathering on Thursday, September 12th next to the “Hey Y’all” postcard mural to celebrate public art. Adam Schrimmer, Owner & Lead Artist with Blank Canvas Mural told attendees how research and visits to community members helped him capture meaningful representations of the City.

DEPARTMENT UPDATES
A SPECIAL THANK YOU FROM THE TR FIRE DEPARTMENT
The Travelers Rest Fire Department would like to thank everyone who helped with the accident that took place Tuesday, August 27th at 110 S Main Street. Greenville County ERT, Greenville County Emergency Management, Greenville City Fire, SC Task Force 6, TR Police, TR Public Works, Berea FD, GCEMS, and Medcom. If we left anyone out it was truly unintentional.
Everyone worked together to make the best of a bad situation for a local business and family. Y’all truly made it easy for Command. It was awesome to have so many groups pull together for a common goal. Please keep those business owners as well as those involved in the wreck in your thoughts and prayers.
For Team TR, y’all rocked as always, and a big thanks to Chief 8 for always lending an ear of experience.
