Inspiring Signs on the Swamp Rabbit Trail
The City of Travelers Rest has placed a series of interactive signposts displaying inspirational quotes along the Swamp Rabbit Trail to boost community spirit and hope during these uncertain times. The signs can be read as citizens are safely socially distancing themselves (6 feet) and exercising along the Swamp Rabbit Trail between the Trailblazer Park trail spur and the intersection at Roe Rd., near the U.S. Post Office, on S. Main St.
The site-specific installation was produced by multimedia artists, Jeff Sumerel and Goda Rupeikaite as part of the TR Cultural Arts Initiative. The installation is expected to remain in place through Sunday, March 29th.
These quotes are featured on the signs:
“To lose patience is to lose the battle.” – Mahatma Gandhi
“Courage is knowing what not to fear.” – Plato
“Every survival kit should include a sense of humor.” – Anonymous
“Keep your fears to yourself, but share your courage with others.” – Robert Louis Stevenson
“Worrying is like paying a debt you don’t owe.” – Mark Twain
”Alone we can do so little; together, we can do so much.” – Helen Keller
